About the UMS® Program
The LCCS UMS® program is an educational model in which two proven elements of educational success–the professional instruction of a classroom teacher and the guidance of a parent–are combined into a single college-simulated program known as the University Model School®.
LCCS partners with parents to build a firm foundation in academic excellence and Christian discipleship. The UMS®. program combines the best of traditional school with the best of home education into one distinctive model. Alongside the academic rigor is a commitment to assist parents in the discipleship of their children. Biblical principles are integrated into all subjects, and students learn to view all of life through the "lens" of Scripture. Students are given opportunities to apply what they have been learning while participating in co-curricular activities, and through service opportunities provided throughout the year.
The LCCS UMS® program’s goal is to truly partner with parents to affirm their role as the primary influencers in their children’s lives. This model of education allows families to have a less hectic lifestyle and a greater sense of community by providing families with much-needed time together.
The LCCS UMS® program provides a 180-day school year where learning takes place both at school and at home. Curriculum is directed by the school and all instruction is taught by our qualified teachers during the central classroom days. This instruction is reinforced through activities assigned by the teachers at home for the satellite classroom days. Central classroom days are Tuesday and Thursday for grades K-2 and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday for grades 3-8.
