LCCS Lions
An Extension of the Classroom
The LCCS athletic program is truly an extension of the classroom. Through sports, students are given real-life opportunities to develop a good work ethic, manage multiple academic tasks and activities, learn to balance church, school and family life, develop good relationship skills, and most importantly, develop a closer relationship with Christ. These lifelong lessons impact student-athletes far beyond the field or court.
We provide a high-quality athletic program that provides student-athletes every opportunity to reach their potential in the sports arena and as individuals. We expect players to work to the limits of their ability to attain high skill levels, agility and mental understanding of the game, as well as maintain Godly character in every situation.
From the Athletic Director
Honoring God in All We Do
“Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God.”Colossians 3:23 (MSG)
As a boy growing up at a Christian school in New Jersey, athletics was a huge part of my journey. From a young age, my athletic experiences shaped and molded me for years to come. As I look back, I view my coaches more as life-changers. I firmly believe that a Christian school athletic experience can have an eternal impact on students.
Our goal is to honor and glorify God in all we do, in the school hallways and classrooms as well as the locker rooms and fields/courts/courses of competition. We pursue excellence in the way we treat our athletes and the way our athletes approach their sports. Excellence looks like a commitment to practice, development in the off-season, maintaining quality facilities, and encouraging our athletes to act in a way that demonstrates Christ-like character. Coaches are committed to reaching our athletes’ hearts while developing the skills and strategies necessary to perform at the highest level. Captains and team leaders are taught servant leadership and to set the example through hard work, determination, and positive speech. We make every effort to offer a comprehensive physical, social, emotional, and spiritual student-athlete experience. We go all out for our athletes, their families, and our fans!
