Homeschool Families: Why University-Model® Might Be Your Best of Both Worlds

Not every family wants the same shape of school week — and that’s exactly why LCCS offers more than one path. Our traditional program meets five days a week; our University-Model® program blends in-classroom instruction with days at home, giving families a hybrid rhythm that many homeschooling parents find is the best of both worlds.

How University-Model® Works

University-Model® splits the week between structured classroom days and parent-led learning at home, giving students the accountability and community of a classroom alongside the flexibility and family time that drew many parents to homeschooling in the first place. Teachers provide the curriculum, instruction, and support; parents reinforce and extend that learning at home. It’s a partnership model, built for families who want both worlds, not a compromise between them.

Is It Right for Your Family?

If you’ve found deep value in homeschooling but are craving more structure, community, or specialized instruction — particularly in subjects like science labs, foreign language, or the arts — University-Model® may be worth a closer look. It keeps parents meaningfully involved in their child’s education while adding the rhythm of a classroom, the camaraderie of classmates, and teachers trained in their subject areas, all within the same Christ-centered mission that shapes every LCCS program. We’d love to talk through whether it’s the right fit for your family’s season.
