By Nate D. Long, Head of School
I hope that you had a restful weekend as we begin to really hit the fall season! I love the fall. The changing leaves, the crisp air, and the beginning of fireplace season. There is something about seeing nature move towards a season of rest that makes me feel the love of community even more. Maybe it was the fall barn parties and seasonal gatherings that I remember shaping me as a youth that make me feel this way about the fall. Whatever it is, this is a special time of year!
Throughout the school year we have so many events and activities that bring us together. Most of those are geared towards the entire family, but this coming Friday, October 23, we have a special opportunity just for you parents. I strongly encourage you to join us for a night with Dr. Alan Pue who will share the Power of Partnership: Discipling our Children in an Age of Unbelief. As Dr. Pue writes, “everyone speaks through a particular worldview” how we invest in our children shapes how they see the world.
One of the ways that you have chosen to disciple your children is by partnering with LCCS in the discipleship journey. We take this very seriously as a school and are committed to pointing your sons and daughters to the truth of God’s Word each day, in every subject area, athletic venture, artistic endeavor, and moment they are with us. We believe successful partnership with you hinges on six key values between LCCS and you as parents.
A Shared Mission
Active Engagement
Trust and Cooperation
Commitment to Biblical Truth and Authority
Biblical Communication
Shared Responsibility for Student Growth
Remaining committed to these values of partnership is how we believe discipleship takes root and allows our students to know God, love Him, and pursue Him wholeheartedly. I hope you can join us this Friday and dive into what it looks like to disciple your children in this ever-changing age of unbelief. We are committed to shepherding them alongside you, and we are excited for what God will do in their lives.
Gracefully,
Nate
