The STEM Academy at LCCS develops and equips students by inspiring them to define order within God’s creation in a way that unveils His truth and purpose. It prepares students for future exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Students are challenged to ideate, develop prototypes, fix design flaws, test their ideas, and create finished products. This process encourages computational thinking, deductive reasoning, and critical evaluation skills. Through the STEM Academy, students have constructed a hydroponics unit, taken apart and rebuilt lawnmowers, printed unique 3D items, programmed video games, designed robots, and more!

The STEM Academy showcase event, Spark717, is an evening of exploration and fun to celebrate LCCS students and their STEM achievements! The event includes displays of STEM tools, programs, and systems used or built by LCCS students. Guests have the opportunity to engage with middle school students’ science fair exhibits and be inspired by presentations from LCCS students and alumni who share about their STEM experiences and passion projects.
